What Was the Letter Shia LaBeouf Read to Sia at Grammys?

So That's What Shia LaBeouf Was Reading in Sia's Grammys Performance Intro

Shia LaBeouf took the stage at Monday's Grammy Awards to introduce his friend Sia's performance of "Chandelier." Shia, who stars in the "Elastic Heart" video along with dancer Maddie Ziegler, seemed like the perfect person to welcome Sia to the stage — they both share a love for creativity, and, well, they're both a little eccentric. When Shia stood at the microphone, however, many people were baffled by the pink slip of paper he was reading from. It sounded a bit like a fan letter or love note, and now we know that Sia's introduction was both of those things. Here's what it said:

"For Sia: I feel like this may be strange to say this here. I love you so. Punch me if I stop crying. I raised a white flag for you, defeated finally. If strength were made of broken pieces, you and I would always win. It is, though, and buildings and statues wink at us. I could squeeze you to zero. I'll never know another. What am I going to do? Punch me if I stop crying, and I'll do the same. Love, Erik."

The note Shia read was a sweet, poetic love letter from Sia's husband, Erik Anders Lang. A source revealed to Us Weekly on Monday that Shia and Erik, who tied the knot with Sia back in August, "conspired together and did this as a gift to Sia," adding, "She was surprised and had no idea."
