After more than half a year of cooking their hearts out, it all comes down to this: at around 9:30 p.m. tonight, either Michael Weldon or Kate Bracks will be announced as the winner of MasterChef 2011 in a live results show. Both have proven that they’re worthy of their places in the grand final, and particularly towards the end of the series they showed why they were clear contenders for the final two — Kate wowed the judges with her pumpkin cake in the ‘worst nightmare’ challenge, while Michael created a great cookbook recipe that was easily followed by a home cook. They’ve both competed in immunity challenges, both survived difficult pressure tests — according to Matt Preston, “We’ve never had such an evenly-matched finale,” while recently-eliminated contestant Alana Lowes told us, “I don’t know who wins, but I know it’s very, very close.” We definitely think this will be a hard one to predict. Who do you think will win MasterChef 2011?
MasterChef starts at 6:30 p.m. on Network Ten. The results show commences at 8:30 p.m.
