Quinta Brunson, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Chris Perfetti, and Tyler James Williams were class acts at this year’s Golden Globe Awards. The beloved “Abbott Elementary” stars reunited at the Los Angeles ceremony on Tuesday night, looking as glamorous as ever outside of their usual school setting. Brunson dazzled in a black-and-pink ruffled gown, while Ralph – who brought her 28-year-old daughter, Ivy Maurice, as her date – shone bright in a custom Aliétte dress. Meanwhile, Williams sported a blue striped blazer and matching pants and Perfetti looked dapper in an all-black ensemble.

In its first year at the Golden Globe Awards, “Abbott Elementary” is up for five awards: best television series, musical or comedy, and individual nods for Brunson, Ralph, Williams, and Janelle James.

The show and its cast won big at the 2022 Emmy Awards when Brunson made history as the third Black writer and second Black woman writer to win outstanding writing for a comedy series. Elsewhere, Ralph had her own historic moment – one of the best of the night – when she delivered an epic speech for taking home the award for best supporting actress in a comedy series, the second Black woman to ever do so. With more than half of its core ensemble nominated in best actor and best supporting actor categories, it seems “Abbott Elementary” is looking to have another strong award show season.

“Abbott Elementary” is in the midst of its second season, which returned from its winter break on Jan. 4. And judging by audiences’ reactions to its hilarious sophomore run on ABC, it’s clear the sitcom will be another big hit this year.
