The “Euphoria” Cast and More Stars Mourn Angus Cloud: “Way Too Young to Leave Us So Soon”

Hollywood is mourning Angus Cloud after his sudden death was reported on July 31. Per TMZ, which broke the news, the “Euphoria” star was at his family’s home in Oakland, CA, when he died at age 25. In a statement to the outlet, Cloud’s family revealed that the beloved actor had buried his father the week prior and “intensely struggled with this loss.” “The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend,” they wrote. “. . . We hope the world remembers him for his humor, laughter and love for everyone. We ask for privacy at this time as we are still processing this devastating loss.”

Soon after news of Cloud’s death circulated, tributes from fans and his “Euphoria” family poured in. The HBO show and its network released a joint statement on social media that read, “We are incredibly saddened to learn of the passing of Angus Cloud. He was immensely talented and a beloved part of the HBO and Euphoria family. We extend our deepest condolences to his friends and family during this difficult time.”

Cloud’s “Euphoria” costar Javon Walton, who played his onscreen little brother Ashtray, paid tribute to him on Instagram by sharing a photo of the two embracing. He captioned it, “rest easy brother❤️🕊️.” Another costar, Alexa Demie, didn’t share a formal statement, though she mourned his death on her Instagram Story, simply posting a lone broken heart emoji.
