“I Was Not Expecting It”: The Bachelor’s Lauren and Annabelle Say Goodbye

Network Ten

The Bachelor has come charging full speed ahead this week.

Viewers have been rewarded for their patience with plenty of plane puns, romantic dates and cocktail party drama. But sadly, we’ve already said goodbye to four women, as they failed to receive a rose from Jimmy Nicholson at the end of the night.

Lauren, Annabelle, Belinda and Jacinta were unable to form the connection they were hoping for and were forced to bid adios to the mansion.

POPSUGAR Australia caught up with Lauren and Annabelle, to find out exactly what was running through their mind during that dreaded moment.

Thankfully for the both of them, they didn’t get too attached to Jimmy, as neither of them had the time to build a true bond.

“I didn’t get enough time, my conversations with him were adrenaline-filled surface-level conversations so we didn’t get a chance to connect on who we truly are as people,” said Annabelle.

But despite that, it was still a tragic moment, as the two women were the very first to leave the mansion.

“Realising that I was going home so soon, I was not expecting it. I don’t think any of the other girls were expecting it either,” said Lauren. “From feeling so good about the experience up until the rose ceremony to then knocked down at the knees, it’s a very overwhelming wave of emotions, it was a big shock.”

It may have come as a shock to Lauren, but she wouldn’t have done anything differently if she was given a second chance, saying she showed her authentic self during the short time we knew her.

“I was myself, again disappointing that he couldn’t see what I had to offer, hard to do that in such a short period of time. I was 100% sure of myself in the time I was there so can’t say I have any real regrets,” she said.

And when asked who they think will be the last woman standing, they both shared the same response.

Jay who got the key. I personally clicked with her really well and think she is an amazing person. I wouldn’t be surprised if Jimmy clicked with her and felt the same way,” said Annabelle.

With Lauren adding: “Jay is definitely a powerful contender she’s beautiful inside and out and she made an impression on Jimmy. I also think potentially Brooke could be up there as well.”

Let’s see if they manage to get it right.

The Bachelor Australia airs Wednesdays and Thursdays at 7.30pm on 10 and 10 Play.
