2023 ARIA Awards Unveils Stellar Lineup of Performers and Presenters

Every year, the Aussie music scene comes alive with anticipation for one of its most prestigious events — the ARIA Awards. This iconic celebration of musical talent, presented by the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA), is returning in 2023 with a fresh new outlook that promises to captivate fans and artists alike.

In a groundbreaking development, streaming service Stan will broadcast the ARIA Awards live! It’s going to be a night to remember, so here’s everything we know so far about the 2023 ARIA Awards.

When are the ARIA Awards?

The stage is set, and the excitement is building for the 37th annual ARIA Awards. The award show is scheduled for November 15.

But there’s a big change. This year’s ARIA Awards are going LIVE! Yes, you heard that right. The night’s festivities will kick off at 5pm, and you can catch the live action exclusively on Stan for the very first time in Australian history. But don’t worry, if you’re more of a traditionalist, the event will also be broadcast on the Nine Network at 7.30pm AEDT.

The glitz and glamour of the red carpet will be at your fingertips with live coverage available on the official ARIA YouTube channel from 1.30pm. This means you can witness your favourite artists stepping onto the red carpet in real time

Where are the ARIA Awards Being Held?

The 37th annual ARIA Awards are returning to Sydney’s iconic Hordern Pavilion for the second consecutive year.

The iconic live music venue has hosted many of the world’s leading acts since 1924, including Amy Shark, The Kid LAROI, Arctic Monkeys, AC/DC, Billie Eilish, Cold Chisel, Coldplay, and the Foo Fighters.

“We’re thrilled to be back at the Hordern and broadcasting a spectacular show across Stan, Nine and YouTube that will make Aussies proud of our outstanding artists and their achievements,” ARIA CEO Annabelle Herd said. “The ARIA Awards have been a beacon of achievement in our local music scene since 1987.”

She emphasised that this year’s ceremony promises to be a global platform that will “make Aussies proud of our outstanding artists and their achievements”.

Who are the Nominees?

Leading the charge with an impressive seven nominations is the hip-hop sensation, Genesis Owusu.

Australia’s prince of pop, Troye Sivan, is hot on Owusu’s heels with six nominations. Sivan’s viral hit, “Rush,” has achieved global acclaim, showcasing his incredible talent and songwriting prowess. Joining Sivan with six nominations each are house music producer Dom Dolla and multi-instrumentalist G Flip.

Who Is Performing?

The award show is set to celebrate the best of Australian music, featuring an impressive array of talent.

With an incredible line-up of performers, this year’s awards will undoubtedly be a night to remember. Artists such as G Flip, Budjerah, DMA’s, Brad Cox, Peach PRC, Jessica Mauboy, Meg Mac, and Fanny Lumsden will take the stage to perform their hit songs.

Additionally, the event will pay tribute to “50 Years of Hip Hop in Australia”, bringing together influential artists like Bliss n Eso, Barkaa, 1200 Techniques, DJ Krissy, and Sound Unlimited Posse featuring Kye. To cap off the night, the ARIA’s Hall of Fame inductees for 2023, the iconic rock band Jet, will close the show with a medley of their timeless hits, marking a historic moment in Australian music history on the 20th anniversary of their acclaimed album, “Get Born”.

Who Is Presenting?

You can expect to see some big names like Troye Sivan, Dolly Parton, Baker Boy, and Claudia Karvan taking the stage to hand out awards. But that’s not all — we’ve got an exciting mix of presenters, including Dylan Alcott, Marcia Hines, Cub Sport, Dermot Kennedy, and Jack River.

Last year’s ARIA Awards saw a star-studded lineup, with hosts including Natalie Imbruglia, G Flip, and Ruel. Baker Boy emerged as one of the big winners, securing five trophies from six nominations. On the other hand, Rüfüs Du Sol garnered the most nominations, an impressive seven, clinching one win.
