Think You Have What It Takes to Win Australian Idol? Then Here’s How to Apply

Be prepared to be transported back to the early 2000s, because Australian Idol is making its comeback in 2023.

The OG singing competition which made Guy Sebastian, Jessica Mauboy, Casey Donovan and Shannon Noll household names is on the hunt for fresh new talent.

Who knows, maybe the next person to join the Idol hall of fame is you!

While details surrounding the show are scarce, and we’re not entirely sure when the new season will air, we do know that Channel 7 has obtained the rights to the series.

So if you have a solid set of pipes and aren’t afraid to get up on stage, then you could be the one producers are looking for.

Of course, like everything, the application process comes with a few terms and conditions. For one, applicants must be between the ages of 15 and 28. Before you object, just know that we don’t make the rules.

Also, unlike the open casting call of the 00s, which saw thousands of people line up in the hopes to make their mark, the process will look a little different this time around.

Applicants are given two options. You can either upload a video of yourself singing, or chat to one of the Idol producers over Zoom.

You’re also required to be an Australian citizen or permanent resident for at least two years. And because we’re still in a pandemic, all applicants must be fully vaccinated and boosted with all the valid paperwork.

Before you jump on and start applying, make sure you don’t have a contract, arrangement or agreement with any other TV show, producer or record label. This means if you’re already in the talks to produce an album, you can’t audition for Idol

If your voice manages to blow the producers away, they will move you to the next round, where you will then perform in front of the judges.

So if you think you have what it takes, then apply now at www.australianidolcasting.com.au.
