Will Dylan Wright Become the “Australian Idol” Dark Horse? The Facts

Meet the Australian Idol finalist Dylan Wright

Channel 7

The “Australian Idol” finale is upon us. Three exciting finalists have put everything on the line to make it here. In the lead-up to this finale, everyone is talking about the country singer Denvah Baker-Moller and the booming voice of Amy Reeves. This has left the third  “Australian Idol” finalist, Dylan Wright, as a bit of an underdog.

But Dylan has been consistently proving that he shouldn’t be underestimated throughout the competition. In fact, on the first night of the season, he blew the judges away with his acoustic cover of Crowded House’s “Better Be Home”.

“I think you are a freaking superstar,” the judge Amy Shark said. “That was such a great performance. You’ve got everything: A kind heart, a great performer, and you’ve got a look.”

After winning a Golden Ticket, Dylan has sung his way to the top. In the Top 21, he did Marc Cohn’s “Walking in Memphis” proud. In the Top 10, he scored a Fast Pass for his bopping cover of The Proclaimers’ “500 Miles”. With each performance, Dylan has proved that he deserves to be in this competition.

But while Dylan has made it to the finale, he’s not won the title yet. Does he have what it takes to escape Denvah and Amy’s shadow? Or will he be regulated to being a runner-up in the history books? Here’s everything we know about the “Australian Idol” singer Dylan.
