The women are going sky-diving on dates, the blokes are going shirtless, Elly is crying as she rejects someone, and a man is asked to leave seemingly because another contestant tells Becky they had been "disrespectful". but there's also pashing under waterfalls and by the fire and men admitting their true feelings. It's going to be quite a season!
"I want to find love next to you," Becky said in the second promo, which introduced us to many of the women's suitors. "It would be magical." And that's when the men started rolling in, gimmicks and all, from Pete to Rudi to Frazer to Sam and his helium balloons to Harry.
Frazer definitely made an impression on Elly — "He is gorgeous!"— while Becky couldn't stop smiling at Sam and felt hot under the collar for Harry. The last arrival was Joe, who said, "It's a small world!" as both he and Elly freaked out about knowing each other already — Joe and Elly are both the same age from Newcastle and already follow each other on Instagram.
The first promo gave us some idea of how the double Bachelorette is going to work. It looks now like the two sisters will each be dating from the same pool of men, with the blokes striding up the red carpet in the first look to meet both women. We saw men in white tuxes, men in Cupid outfits, men with helium balloons, all of them perplexed by what was in front of them.
Still, some clearly saw the double Bachelorette format as an opportunity. What's better than the chance to woo one stunning woman? Two! Elly and Becky had to explain the format to a man who seemed to have a Ciarran-like swagger and eye for fashion: "Two girls, looking for one guy each," Elly explained as they all laughed. "Oh phew!" he replied.
Last week, an "on-set spy" told New Idea that "There are whispers that love is definitely in the air for Becky.
"Unlike Elly, who loves to be the centre of attention, no one really knew who Becky was, but she really surprised everyone. While Elly is used to the spotlight, Becky definitely stole it and there was a bit of jealousy."
We're hoping that what we see on the show is more like the wholesomeness of the ad — with the sisters having a friend and confidante to help them through the experience. "This is a once-in-a-lifetime thing and nobody gets to do this with their best friend, their sister, by their side," Elly explained at the end of the promo. Just so long as they're not into the same guy . . .
