It’s my favourite time of the year. No, I’m not talking about Christmas, I’m talking about the Met Gala.
I can’t begin to describe just how devastated I was that COVID-19 cancelled the glamorous night last year because my life is pretty much “before the Met” and “after the Met”.
Look, I know it sounds a bit insane but the Met Gala is when celebrities pull out ALL THE STOPS (or sometimes none at all) and as a fashion lover, it’s a night where all my dreams come true.
If you’re unfamiliar with the iconic event, the night is hosted by the one and only Anna Wintour.
The exclusive invite-only guest list is given a theme and they need to base their entire look around it, this year the theme is “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion”.
Now, let me tell you, there have been some serious winners in the previous years, I mean Blake Lively’s look from 2018 still runs through my mind at least once a day.
Usually taking place on the first Monday of May, this year, they were forced to switch it up thanks to our good old friend, ‘Rona.
But I ain’t complaining, because at least it hasn’t been cancelled this year. Instead, they’ve changed the date and now it’s going to happen on September 13.
While I may not be walking the pink carpet, it’s still just as fun to judge the looks from the comfort of my couch.
This is why I’ve compiled a gallery of some of my favourite Met Gala looks from previous years.
