The Cast of Big Brother Australia 2022 Features Some Very Familiar Faces

After last year’s smash hit season of Big Brother VIP starring Caitlyn Jenner and winner Luke Toki, the series is set to kick off once again, but this time, with a slight twist.

Premiering on May 9 on Channel 7 and 7plus, the latest season will see former Big Brother alums join a number of fresh new faces. Celebrating its 21st birthday in 2022, this year’s season of Big Brother is set to be huge.

So far, the network has confirmed Sonia Kruger will be hosting the show once again, and joining her will be Big Brother royalty, Tim Dormer and Reggie Bird, just to name a few.

In a short teaser, Dormer revealed that he will be joining the Big Brother house. “Let’s start some mischief,” said the former winner. 

But things are expected to heat up, with 2003 winner Reggie Bird also entering the house. “This may be a new game but I’m still the same old Reggie. It’s just little old me from Tazzie,” she said.

“Big Brother’s in my blood. I just can’t believe I’m here.”

It’s already shaping up to be a stellar season, and it seems there’s going to be one heck of a showdown if the trailer is anything to go by. 

In the past, Bird has spoken candidly about what happened after she won the reality show in 2003.

“The prize money didn’t last long!” Reggie previously told Punkee. “I paid off the house in Tassie and unfortunately, my marriage broke down to [ex-partner] Adrian and I left it to him, I walked away.”

“My life changed heaps after the show. I went to Melbourne for three years and got a job as an air hostess with Virgin. (I) absolutely loved flying and looking after passengers.

“I then moved to the Gold Coast, remarried and had two beautiful kids,” she said.

Sadly, Reggie was diagnosed with a degenerative eye condition called retinitis pigmentosa and was declared legally blind.

Her son, Lucas, is also battling cystic fibrosis.

“It’s mentally and physically draining on Lucas so I have to stay strong for him. It’s a constant battle to try to get weight on him so he has to drink supplements and have a diet high in calories and fat. I hope he will live past the 37 years of expected time,” she told Now to Love.

We can’t wait to see Bird on our screens once again, and we’re sure her kids will be cheering her on from home.
