Much-loved actress Bridie Carter has officially joined the cast of Home and Away, the McLeod's Daughters star revealed on Instagram overnight.
"Very happy to be join the team/family on one of Australia's longest running shows," she wrote. "Very, very grateful in these strange times to be invited into the family fold."
She added that she had been filming that day, and promised more pictures and updates. Bridie is set to feature as real estate agent, Susie McCalister.
Speaking to the Daily Telegraph, Bridie said: "I think it is miraculous that in these uncertain times when my industry is floundering that I got a phone call to say, would I like to come to Summer Bay.
"I was astounded and ecstatic at the same time. I am very fortunate and very grateful."
The Home and Away gig is her first TV role since 800 Words, which ran on Channel Seven from 2015 to 2018.
A McLeod's Daughters movie was revealed to be in development by the show's writer and producer Posie Graeme-Evans in June. While no plot or cast was announced, Bridie, who starred in the series as Tess McLeod, celebrated the news on Instagram. Later that month she wrote on Instagram that the production was "looking at the beginnings of a story, that has been waiting to emerge for many years".
"Without you all, this wonderful incarnation, that seems to be far more than a television show, would be absolutely nothing. Without you, we would have no purpose, no reason to keep fighting to bring this wonderful world of women (and great men) of the land, to life on the screen again. Love, family, friendship."
We're definitely excited to see Bridie on our screens again!
