Jules Robinson and Cam Merchant from 2019's season of Married at First Sight have announced that they're expecting their first child together!
In a video on Instagram, Jules and Cam, who wee saw the couple get married for real on a Channel Nine special in November last year, shared the happy news, holding a positive pregnancy test and saying, "It's official!"
"I hope it's a mini you, not a mini me!" Jules said. They talk about only seeing one line show up on the test a negative result, before a second appeared when they checked much later.
The video also includes a section of Jules and Cam at the doctor's office, after the news was confirmed. "I just wanted to say to women out there who are my age who go and have those tests done that tell you that you don't have any eggs, and all that . . . just keep on believing it's going to happen for you, because that's what I did. I really didn't believe that this would happen without a fight and I'm so happy."
In the caption, Jules wrote: "It took two lines twice to convince us that this was actually happening!!! From the moment you find out parenthood is on your doorstep the mixed emotions you feel are like nothing I've ever experienced . . . I just want to send my prayers to all the women who are trying to make a baby and when you are in those moments, don't give up being true to your own courage and deep desire.
"When I watch this back and take my self out of my loved up bubble in the doctors surgery. I'm well aware how lucky I am to be having a baby after being told it maybe wasn't a possibility for me or was going to come with a fight."
On Saturday night, the couple shared their Stellar magazine cover with the news: "We are having a baby!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ You heard it here so you know it's actually true!," Jules gushed. "And we couldn't be happier! I'm already so in love with my bump! . . . Much love from the 3 of us 😍😍😍 @cammerchant & #bump ."
In Cam's caption for the cover story, he wrote: "#truestory We are having our first baby & I'm going to be a Dad!!😊❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ And couldn't be more excited to share the news with you!🙏🏽😘 . Much love from our little family being created to you & yours ❤️."
According to The Daily Telegraph, the couple are 16 weeks along. The 37-year-old Jules told the paper: "I honestly thought it was going to come with a fight. Because of my age, I had done all the hormone testing, the egg count . . . so much is instilled that you're going to struggle because of your age. So I had it in my head that it was going to be a problem . . . I did manifest for the whole of 2019 that I wanted to be pregnant. I had January in my mind and kept picturing myself pregnant in January, and that is when I found out."
Congratulations Jules and Cam!
