Today, Britney Spears addressed the court in her ongoing battle to free herself from the conservatorship she was placed under in 2008 after a mental health crisis.

Her lengthy speech detailed the many ways she believes the 13-year conservatorship is “abusive”, and asked the court to terminate it. You can read her full statement to Judge Brenda Penny here.

Following the singer’s court appearance, which occurred via Zoom, celebs have been tweeting in support of Britney and her fight for freedom.

“Bless Britney and I hope with my whole heart she is awarded freedom from this abusive system. She deserves it more than anything. I admire her courage speaking up for herself today,” wrote Halsey on Twitter. “Additionally, fuck anyone who thinks they have the authority as an institution or individual to control a person’s reproductive health. #FreeBritney

Bravo’s Andy Cohen addressed Britney’s father Jamie Spears directly on his show Watch What Happens Live, calling him the “jackhole of the day” and saying: “How about we all start listening to Britney Spears? She’s not a girl, she is a woman, and she certainly deserves a hell of a lot more than a low-rent Mommy Dearest in a boxy suit. Britney, after the courage you showed today you are 100 percent stronger than yesterday and Jamie, if you wanna make money in the future, I suggest you better work, bitch.”

Andy Cohen also tweeted “#freebritney” in solidarity, as did Sarah Jessica Parker, Vera Wang, Lisa Rinna and The Veronicas.

Jersey Shore’s Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi tweeted that it was time to “FUCKING FREE BRITNEY!” adding, “we are all here for you queen!”

Mariah Carey and Khloé Kardashian both told Britney to “stay strong” and sent their well wishes:

Tinashe and Brandy sent their love:

Jameela Jamil called Britney’s situation “the most bizarre theft of freedom” and wished Britney luck:

Modern Family‘s Jesse Tyler Ferguson said that “Britney deserves to be happy”:

Showtime icon Ziwe also showed her support:

Keke Palmer called Britney’s conservators “crazy mfs”:

Rosie O’Donnell implored everyone to “listen to this woman”:

Devon Sawa tweeted a photo of himself in a Britney t-shirt, writing: “Y’all letting the girl talk finally?”

Rose McGowan posted a video with words of encouragement and support:

And finally, Britney’s ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake–who came under fire earlier this year for his treatment of the star following their 2002 break-up–had this to say:

“After what we saw today, we should all be supporting Britney at this time,” he wrote. “Regardless of our past, good and bad, and no matter how long ago it was… what’s happening to her is just not right. No woman should ever be restricted from making decisions about her own body.

“No one should EVER be held against their will… or ever have to ask permission to access everything they’ve worked so hard for,” he continued. “Jess and I send our love, and our absolute support to Britney during this time. We hope the courts, and her family make this right and let her live however she wants to live.”
