“It’s a Triumph”: Nick Riewoldt Has Been Crowned the Winner of Celebrity MasterChef 2021!

It feels like just yesterday 10 celebrities entered the kitchen to compete on Celebrity MasterChef Australia. Personalities such as Ian Thorpe and Rebecca Gibney were brushing off their aprons in the hope to be crowned the winner of the popular cooking competition.

But of course, there could only be one Celebrity MasterChef and tonight, the final three contestants battled it out against each other to come out on top and win $100,000 for their chosen charity.

Tilly Ramsay, Collette Dinnigan and Nick Riewoldt were tasked with creating an intricate, chocolate dessert by chef Martin Benn.

In an interview with POPSUGAR Australia, soccer star and Celebrity MasterChef contestant Archie Thompson said he was glad he didn’t make it into the final “because it’s a real, intense cook but an amazing one” and boy was he right.

While the sweet treat looked simple to the untrained eye, the multiple steps required proved otherwise. Each finalist managed to plate up a beautiful looking dish, but of course, there was one that stood out amongst the rest.

“To produce that level, the shine, the temper were all in tact. Balance wise, this had everything we were looking for,” said Benn after tasting the dish.

Judge and food writer Melissa Leong agreed, saying: “I’m smiling on the outside and the inside, I’m so pleased for him. For someone who’s not experienced with this, it’s a triumph.”

Nick managed to recreate Benn’s dessert perfectly, crowning him the winner of Celebrity MasterChef Australia. Not only does he have his name engraved on the Celebrity MasterChef trophy, but he also received $100,000 to go towards his charity Maddie Riewoldt’s Vision, an organisation named after Nick’s own sister who passed from Aplastic Anaemia in 2015. The charity fights for better outcomes and cures for people with Bone Marrow Failure Syndromes.
