Diddy didn’t need to attend the 2023 BET Awards to steal the spotlight. On June 25, the rap giant gave viewers a major case of déjà vu when his look-alike son Christian “King” Combs, 25, walked the red carpet. Combs is currently nominated for a BET Award for best collaboration for his work on “Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop” with Kodak Black. Though Diddy did not attend the award show, he did watch from home, cheering on his son during his red carpet interview. “That’s my baby boy!!!” Diddy captioned a snapshot of the moment on his Instagram Story.
During the interview, Combs was quick to share his excitement at being nominated. “I feel great. I’m honored to be here,” he said. “I’m super happy, super excited. I’m nominated for the first time ever for a BET Award. Shout-out to my boy Kodak [Black]. We going to take this one home.” A few hours earlier, Diddy shared another clip celebrating his son’s accomplishment. “So proud of my son @kingcombs!! Nominated at @betawards. New music on the way!!” he wrote.
As Combs walked the red carpet, he also took a moment to pose for the cameras, showing off his monochrome outfit and layered chain necklace from all angles. From his walk to his cheeky camera wink, every second of Combs’s time on the red carpet was a flashback to Diddy’s days as a young rapper in the ’90s. It’s always a surprise to see celebrities and their look-alike kids, and this is one father-son twinning situation we will not be forgetting anytime soon.
While Combs could pass as Diddy’s clone, the acclaimed rapper has six additional children: 32-year-old Quincy Combs, 29-year-old Justin Combs, 16-year-old twin daughters D’Lila Combs and Jessie Combs, 16-year-old Chance Combs, and 8-month-old Love Combs. Last year, Diddy attended the BET Awards alongside several family members, including his mother, Janice Combs; Christian; Quincy; and Justin.
