“I’m Still Speechless”: Demi Lovato Announces Engagement to Jutes

Wedding bells are ringing for Demi Lovato and musician Jordan “Jutes” Lutes! The loved-up couple — who went public with their romance in August 2022 — dropped the news of their engagement on Sunday, December 17.

The Grammy-nominated singer announced the news in an Instagram post, sharing a sweet photo with her fiancé and a close-up of the ring.

“I’m still speechless 🥹🥹 last night was the best night of my life and I can’t believe I get to marry the love of my life,” Lovato captioned the carousel, tagging Lutes in the post.

“My love, I’m beyond excited to marry you.. every day I’ve spent with you has been a dream come true and I can’t wait to love and cherish you forever. Here’s to the rest of our lives. I love you baby.”

Lutes reciprocated the sentiment, sharing the same photos on his own social media platform, penning, “Yesterday I asked my best friend to marry me, and she said yes. I can’t imagine my life without you, and thank god now I’ll never have to. Feeling like the luckiest man alive right now. I’m so in love with you.”

The exclusive news of the engagement was first unveiled by PEOPLE, revealing that the couple’s union was sealed with a “personal and intimate proposal” on a Saturday.

Demi Lovato and Jutes First Met in 2022

The couple’s romantic journey began in the studio while collaborating on Lovato’s 2022 album, “Holy Fvck”. Lutes, a Canadian indie rocker, played a significant role in co-writing several tracks, including standout hits like “Substance”, “Happy Ending”, and “City of Angels”. By August 2022, insiders confirmed Lovato’s entrance into a “happy and healthy” new relationship.

Reflecting on their initial encounter during a September episode of the LadyGang podcast, Lovato shared the excitement, saying, “He came into the session, and I literally was like, ‘Who is this guy?’ I texted my friends and was like, ‘Oh my God, the hottest guy just walked in. I am so nervous. I don’t know what to do with myself’.”

Lovato explained that from there, it took “a couple months” for them to become romantically involved.
