A Simple Favor
Based off of the Darcey Bell novel by the same name, Anna Kendrick stars in this twisty, sexy thriller as a fledgling vlogger who tries to solve the sudden disappearance of her glamorous best friend, who’s played by Blake Lively. With the same unreliability that makes Gone Girl so addicting, you won’t know who to trust until the very end.
Evan Rachel Wood stars in this Canadian drama as Laura, a disturbed woman who works as a housecleaner for her father’s company. When she meets Eva – an unhappy young woman with an oppressive mother – while on the job, Laura invites Eva to move in with her, but their initial bond becomes more and more strained as Laura’s behavior grows increasingly erratic.
Starring Hilary Swank, this British thriller revolves around an ER surgeon who – soon after renting a new apartment in NYC – begins to suspect that someone is stalking her. Little does she know that the hot guy who rented her the place (played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan) is the one watching, and he’s using the secret passageways and one-way mirrors he installed her apartment to do so.
The Cabin in the Woods
This horror comedy revolves around a group of impossibly attractive college students (including Chris Hemsworth) who decide to spend a weekend in a seemingly deserted cabin in the woods. Little do they know that two scientists are remotely controlling the cabin, manipulating the five campers with drugs that decrease their inhibitions and increase their libido.
When a female high school teacher begins an illicit affair with her male student, it initially seems as though the teacher is the one in control. However, as time goes on, it becomes increasingly obvious that power has shifted, and infatuation turns into dangerous and potentially destructive obsession.
Based on the 1975 novel of the same name by J. G. Ballard, English hottie Tom Hiddleston stars in this dystopian drama as a doctor who moves into a new luxury tower block during the 1970s and is quickly smitten with a single mom (who’s played by Sienna Miller). However, he soon discovers that the dreamy apartment can’t protect him (and his hot new girlfriend) from the class warfare brewing outside forever.
Taraji P. Henson stars in this Tyler Perry-directed psychological thriller as Melinda, a loving and devoted wife whose world is turned upside down when she realizes that, despite all of her sacrifice, her husband hasn’t been faithful. That’s when she decides it’s time to exact her revenge.
Sophie Turner stars in this dark thriller as the titular Josie, a mysterious high schooler who, after moving to a new town, attracts the attention of lonely recluse who lives in a nearby motel (played by Dylan McDermott). The two strike up a strange friendship, but Hank soon realizes that Josie’s intentions are far more sinister than he could have ever imagined.
In this Norwegian supernatural drama, a shy young woman from an intensely religious family moved to Oslo to attend college, where she struggles to make friends and begins to experience inexplicable epileptic seizures. That all changes when Thelma meets another student, Anja, and she realizes that her intense feelings for Anja trigger in her dangerous supernatural abilities.
This wild neo-noir crime drama tells the story of five strangers – two assassins, a teacher, a janitor, and a waitress – who find their lives intertwined and all part of an evil mastermind’s devious plan for revenge. FTR, few people could play a better scheming vixen than Margot Robbie.
A lonely man kidnaps a woman he’s become obsessed with in this dark romantic comedy.
A Kind of Murder
This Hitchcock-esque mystery is based on a novel by the author of The Talented Mr. Ripley and Carol, Patricia Highsmith. Starring Patrick Wilson and Jessica Biel, it follows a wealthy man who is suspected of killing his wife having an affair. But not all is what it seems.
Before I Go to Sleep
50 First Dates meets Memento in this twisty thriller about a woman (Nicole Kidman) who wakes up every day with no memory. It’s a result of a traumatic brain injury that she can’t even remember, until one day she starts trying. Soon, she becomes suspicious of everyone, including her husband (Colin Firth) and her doctor (Mark Strong).
An orphaned girl is hired to be a housemaid at a rubber plantation and falls in love with the French landlord. Everything seems perfectly fine, until his dead wife’s ghost appears.
When a photographer begins to fall for his client, it puts his relationship at risk in this film starring Rashida Jones and Chris Messina.
Based on the Ira Levin novel of the same name, this erotic thriller revolves around a successful young editor (played by Sharon Stone) who moves into a new building and meets a sexy neighbor (played by William Baldwin), only to learn that he isn’t quite as nice and innocent as he seems.
Woody Harrelson and Demi Moore star in this romance as a sexy and successful husband and wife, who – when the recession hits and they find themselves broke – have to decide whether they’re willing to accept money from a mysterious millionaire who offers to solve their money woes on one condition: the wife has to sleep with him.
Sleeping With the Enemy
In this sci-fi romance, a chef and a scientist (played by Ewan McGregor and Eva Green, respectively) are just beginning a relationship when their romance is challenged by a supernatural threat: a lethal virus that causes its victims to lose their sensory perception – except their sense of touch, of course.
When a sexy, mysterious crime novelist (played by Sharon Stone) becomes a murder suspect, she decides to seduce the homicide detective (Michael Douglas) to throw him off her trail. Though Ryan Reynolds parodied the famous leg-crossing scene in Deadpool 2, it doesn’t do justice to the sexiness of Stone’s original move.
In this strange, brutal movie, an American stripper and a London writer (played by Natalie Portman and Jude Law, respectively) fall in love after Portman is hit by a taxi in front of him, and despite the odd start, it turns into a relationship and a novel. Everything seems wonderful, until the writer gets bored and transfers his attention to a gorgeous photographer (played by Julia Roberts).
Based on the short story “Secretary” by Mary Gaitskill, this hilariously perverse flick stars Maggie Gyllenhaal as a shy, sensitive woman named Lee who becomes the secretary for an eccentric attorney (played by James Spader) and soon finds herself swept into a wild BDSM relationship that eventually blossoms into something like love.
