Ex-Bachie Contestants Are Not Having a Bar of Ciarran's Antics on Bachelor in Paradise
The Devil works hard but it appears that Ciarran Stott works harder, or at least that's what the edits from Bachelor In Paradise have shown us. And after last night's episode of BIP, many current and ex-contestants have piped up about his behaviour and the topic of discussion at the Bula Banquet: "Bro-code".
To get you up to speed, since the premiere of the show a mere, oh, 14 days ago, viewers have seen Ciarran slither his way from woman to woman. First trying it on with Cassandra Mamone and then quickly turning his attention to Abbie Chatfield before sending her packing as soon as Jessica Brody arrived in Paradise. History repeated itself when Kiki Morris rocked up, and Jess was unceremoniously pushed to the side after an overnight date with Kiki.
And we haven't even touched on his flirtations with Keira Maguire, Brittney Weldon and almost every other woman to walk through Paradise's random, middle-of-nowhere doors.
Keeping up? Onto the next chapter of this story . . .
The tip of the proverbial iceberg (though I have a feeling we haven't reached the summit quite yet) came when Matt Whyatt walked in and immediately showed interest in Renee Barrett, handing her his date card without pulling aside Ciarran for a chat, as is deemed the proper etiquette for "bro-code".
Here's the kicker. Renee and Ciarran had a long-term relationship which ended not long before BIP began filming. It was revealed in early episodes that not only did the relationship end because Ciarran cheated on her with a friend, but he also left Angie Kent's season of The Bachelorette because 1) his nan's funeral and 2) to continue his on-and-off again relationship with Renee.
Talk about sneaky snake behaviour.
Things all kicked off in a very passive aggressive way during the bula banquet where the jealous waves coming off of Ciarran were almost visible through my very shitty Kogan TV. Through a series of one-on-one interviews, it became apparent that Ciarran viewed Renee as a personal belonging of his, and like a toddler, no one was allowed to have her if he couldn't. We have some feelings on this topic, and so do a lot of Bachie contestants.
