Popular “Farmer Wants a Wife” Couple Announces Shock Split: “Disappointing”

“Farmer Wants a Wife” couple, Brenton Kuch and Sophie Holcombe, have announced their split, three months after the show’s finale aired on screens. The news came as a shock to fans who were rooting for their love story just weeks ago.

Sophie, who won the heart of the Victorian cattle farmer, shared her heartbreak with her followers on Tuesday evening.

“I have an update to share,” she captioned a slide on Instagram Stories. “With a heavy heart, I want to let everyone know Brenton and I have gone our separate ways.”

The 25-year-old social media manager had moved from her home in Queensland to the rural town of Darriman in Victoria to be with Brenton. Sophie said relocating didn’t faze her, as she loved life on the farm.

“Reg and I loved our life in Darriman and have been missing the farm a lot,” she said of her dog Reginald. “It’s a disappointing ending, but I’ve learned a lot about myself and my values.”

The Split Comes as A Complete Shock to Fans

Brenton is yet to address the split, but the pair still have pictures of each other on their social media.

Their break-up is especially surprising as not long ago, Brenton and Sophie were encouraging other farmers to find love on the upcoming season of “Farmer Wants A Wife.”

“This year, Soph and I were lucky enough to meet on season 13 of @farmeraustralia,” Brenton wrote on Instagram. “If you’re a brave, single farmer and want to have a once in a lifetime experience, apply now.”

Brenton’s journey on the show proved to be one of the most challenging yet. Unlike some of his fellow farmers who had clarity from the start, Brenton found himself torn between two women: Sophie and Rachel.

The farmer found the courage to express his love to Sophie in the show’s finale. In a moment filled with vulnerability and honesty, he confessed, “I’ve never felt this way about anyone before. We’ve created so many beautiful memories, and I can’t wait to take you back to the farm. You’re the most stunning girl I’ve ever met. I’m falling in love with you.”
