New year, new beginnings and that’s certainly the case for everyone’s favourite Gogglebox star Symon Lovett! Taking to Instagram over the weekend, Symon revealed he dropped down to one knee and popped the question to his girlfriend Gabrielle Russo.
Sharing the beautiful photo of the moment, he captioned it: “Some people say New Year’s Eve is overrated, I disagree ? #engaged.”
It didn’t take long for his comments to be flooded by well-wishes from fans and his fellow Gogglebox co-stars, and yes, one of them was Symon’s couch buddy Adam Denston.
“Yewwwwwwwwww! The absolute best,” Adam said, before jokingly saying: “I thought we were the forever couple? ?”
Matty Fahd also congratulated the happy pair saying, “Yehhhhhhhhh buddy!!! Best news mate. Congratulations to you both.” This was soon followed by his wife Sarah Fahd who said, “Such amazing news! Congratulations.”
Meanwhile, Angie Kent commented: “Congrats cuties!!!! Love seeing LOVE right now! We need more of it! Xx.”
Isabelle Silbery, another fellow Gogglebox personality was equally excited, writing: “Yesssssssss I’ve been waiting for this announcement ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️ congrats you two xxxx”
While we’re all familiar with Symon because of his stint on TV, his fiancee Gabriella chooses to remain off-screen. But despite staying low-key, Gabriella has been a big part of Symon’s life for the last five years.
Speaking to Foxtel about their relationship back in October, Symon said the lockdowns, which affected most people around the country over the last two years, solidified their relationship even more.
“It’s been good for us in lockdown,” Symon said. “It’s made us stronger – and I feel very relieved and fortunate to be able to say that. Otherwise, we would have been in trouble and I may have been knocking on Adam’s door to stay for a few months.”
