Keen For Summer? Here’s How to Apply for Love Island Australia

Love Island

There are so many reality shows coming back in 2021 that we can hardly keep up.

From Nine’s second iteration of Beauty and the Geek making its grand re-entrance, to The Celebrity Apprentice and a new season Farmer Wants a Wife, our next six months are catered for when it comes to weeknight viewings.

One highly anticipated series set to return is Channel Nine’s Love Island Australia. Hosted by the effervescent Sophie Monk, the new season will star some of our country’s sexiest singles… including YOU.

If you’ve ever dreamed about lounging around a pool, partaking in beachside challenges, and toasting to the sunset with a bunch of other hot people while competing for $250,000, then it’s high time you apply to be on season 3.

According to Channel Nine, a villa is currently being prepared for sexy singles in search of love and to help you along with your application, executive producer Alex Mavroidakis has revealed what the casting team is looking for.

“We’re looking for anybody between the ages of 18 and 32 to apply,” Mavroidakis told 9Entertainment. “People who completely own who they are. We completely want them to be themselves, to wear their heart on their sleeve.”

He added: “We want people to find love, that is absolutely what we want. We’re not in the business of stumping love and trying to get people to break up. We want them to find love, then we want to test that love and we ultimately want love to win.” Amen!

Diversity is also said to be a focus when it comes to casting the new season. “It comes in many different forms. It can be your nationality, your race, your sexuality, your personality. But a hundred per cent we are actively looking for a diverse cast in all forms,” Mavroidakis told the outlet.

In another amazing addition, casting will remain open even while the show is on, meaning, if there’s someone you fancy while watching, you can apply and be in the villa within days. So cool!

Due to its fast turn around, Love Island, puts the “real” into “reality” and according to Mavroidakis, “There’s no time for us to create characters or to turn someone who isn’t a d–khead into a d–khead, or to turn someone who isn’t a hero into a hero.” Love this for us.
