If you love to cook or have ever dreamed of opening your own restaurant, publishing a cookbook or simply sharing your passion for food with the world, then you should consider applying for MasterChef Australia 2022.
The popular reality cooking series is now accepting applications for season 14 which will be filmed between October 2021 and June 2022 for approximately 30 weeks with a break over Christmas and New Year.
To apply, you’ll need to be an Aussie citizen and be 18 years or over by Monday, October 18 2021. You also must be an amateur cook so if you have loads of experience in a kitchen or have received professional training in the past 20 years you unfortunately won’t be eligible.
When you access the application form you’ll need to upload a picture of yourself and some snaps of dishes you’ve created, and you also have the option to upload a short video introducing yourself. While this step is not mandatory, it is a great way to show the casting director who you are and why your dazzling personality would be the perfect addition to the MasterChef cast. This is a reality show, after all, so why not let the producers see how you come across on camera?
You should set aside at least 30 minutes for your application as there are loads of questions you’ll need to answer, including about your family and upbringing, style of cooking, why you want to be on the show and who your cooking idols are. And, one of the most burning questions is surely: How confident are you that you will be able to cook under the pressure of TV cameras?
You’ll also need to disclose any other reality shows you have appeared on or are currently in talks with and confirm that you are able to potentially be away from your family and friends for up to seven months.
