Nick Jonas, The Weeknd and Drake might sound like a “shoot, shag, marry” list — or like any music fans dream dinner party — but it’s actually just some of the amazing music artists you can see if you turn on the Billboard Music Awards (BBMAs) next Monday, May 24.

And no, you won’t have to rely on people’s shaky Twitter videos, or even a dodgy online stream (that will definitely infect your laptop) — if you want to watch the 2021 BBMAs, all you have to do is tune into SBS On Demand, 10 am Monday, May 24.

Yep, the home of The Handmaid’s Tale is now bringing you one of the biggest music events of the year. And if you miss it? No need to worry, it’ll be available on SBS On Demand after broadcast. The provider has exclusive rights in Australia, so this is the one place to tune in.

Nick Jonas is set to host, Drake will be receiving the prestigious Artist of the Decade Award — he has 27 Billboard Music Awards, the most of any artist ever — and P!NK will be honoured with the distinguished ICON award.

Leading the nominations? The Weeknd (who else?), with 16 nods. DaBaby follows with 11 noms, and Gabby Barrett with nine. Fan favourites like Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish and Harry Styles have also been nominated for awards.

If you’re curious to know exactly how finalists and winners are calculated, it’s based on key fan interactions — like streaming numbers, song sales, radio airplay, social engagement and more. It all comes down to the fans.

You’ll get to see some pretty incredible performances as well if you tune if. We’re talking P!NK and The Weeknd (of course!), as well as Duran Duran — their first performance at the BBMAs — as well as global phenomenon BTS.

Catch us watching SBS On Demand next week, to witness every last minute of it!
