Tina Fey’s New Comedy Series Girls5Eva Finally Has a Release Date

“20 years l8r, they are back 2getha, always and 5eva.”

Let’s face it, anything Tina Fey touches turns to gold and her newest offering, Girls5Eva, will be no exception.

If you’re wondering what you’re going to do when Younger finishes up at the end of season seven, we think this fun series will be the next best thing.

Coming to STAN on Friday, May 7, this new TV series — which Fey has executive produced — follows a one-hit-wonder girl group from the ’90s who gets sampled by a young rapper, giving its members the opportunity to reunite to give their pop star dreams one more shot.

The series, which has been created by Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt’s Meredith Scardino, stars Grammy Award-winner and Tony and Emmy Award-nominated singer Sara Bareilles, Grammy and Tony Award-winning actress and singer Renée Elise Goldsberry (Hamilton), Emmy winning Saturday Night Live mainstay and comedy icon Paula Pell (A.P. Bio), and New York Times Best-Selling author, actor, activist, writer and host Busy Philipps (Cougar Town) and seriously, it looks so darn good.

The women are now grown balancing spouses, kids, jobs, debt, ageing parents, and shoulder pain, but can‘t they also be Girls5eva? We’ll have to wait and see, but with Phillips and Pell in the cast, we know it’s going to be a wild ride.
