And The Oscar Goes To…Here’s How to Watch the Academy Awards in Australia

The 93rd Academy Awards are finally upon us after being rescheduled (along with every other award show) due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

We’ve already learned who all the potential winners of the coveted golden statuettes were last month, as well as been given information on how a mega-award show like this will even take place.

So don your fanciest frock, reapply that lipstick that’s most likely been gathering dust throughout the past year, and pop that popcorn, because the Oscar goes to… Oh wait, we haven’t even told you how to watch the 2021 Oscars here in Australia — is this our La La Land/Moonlight moment?

While the time difference is confusing, watching the show won’t involve any midnight wake-ups because the awards will take place on Monday, April 26 from 10 am AEST.

The Academy Awards will air live — straight from the US — on Channel 7 and 7Plus — no subscription necessary!

If you do have Foxtel — can we come over? — you can watch also watch the pre-show and red carpet action from 7 am on E! However, for us ordinary folk who haven’t been lucky enough to score a day off from work on, 7 is also hosting a prime time encore screening of the 2021 Oscars at 9:30 pm — this one you can get away with wearing your pj’s and slippers too.
