Will There Be a Season 3 of the “iCarly” Reboot?
“iCarly” had a great six season run on Nickelodeon before concluding in 2012. Starring Miranda Cosgrove, Jennette McCurdy, Jerry Trainor, Nathan Kress, and more, this series was easily one of the most popular live-action shows on the network. Fortunately, the team (almost all) came back together for a revival on Paramount+ that debuted its first season in 2021. Though McCurdy sat out the reboot, Cosgrove, Kress, Trainor, and more came back to bring “iCarly” into a new decade. With season two starting April 8, it’s tough to say if the “iCarly” revival series is coming to an end or if season three might be in the near future.
As of right now, the future of the “iCarly” revival series is uncertain. Season one of the show gave us a ton of nostalgia, especially since the main plot was all about Carly and the gang relaunching the web series they started as teens. While a lot of the revival series pick right back up where the original show left off, the original cast are adults now, which means Carly’s web series and her life are a little more complicated. She and her friends still have their fun and get up to no good, but now that they’re all grown up, they deal with adult problems like love triangles, job hunting, and more.
The first season was well-received, considering it was renewed for a second season before the first even finished airing, per Deadline. Based off this action alone, it’s safe to say that Paramount+ is pretty confident in the series. If a season three ends up getting the go-ahead, the announcement may come in the next few weeks while season two is still airing – given, of course, the cast wants to keep going and the network feels the show is still worthy of another instalment.
With “iCarly” season two on the horizon, fans are probably very interested to see how the future pans out for this series. A season three of the reboot series isn’t completely far-fetched, but it’s still too soon to tell. We’ll just have to wait to see how it pans out and whether the cast, crew, and network execs are willing to keep Carly’s story alive.
