Get ready to meet the fashion dynamo who’s making waves on and off the runway! Jane Lu, the Founder and CEO of Showpo, is stepping into the spotlight as one of the new judges on the upcoming season of “Shark Tank Australia“.

Jane Lu is gearing up to bring her unique blend of fashion flair, entrepreneurial brilliance, and unapologetic humour to the “Shark Tank”. Let’s get to know her ahead of the premiere tonight.

From Humble Beginnings

Jane started her career as an accountant but secretly quit to chase her entrepreneurial dream. Over two years, she maintained the façade of a corporate job. All while building her second startup, Showpo, which now rakes in up to $100 million in sales every year #goals.

Her journey from stealthy startup founder to fashion industry titan exemplifies the power of determination and risk-taking. With her unique trajectory, Jane brings a relatable presence to the “Shark Tank” panel. She’s connecting with hopeful entrepreneurs who aspire to follow their passion.

“The Lazy CEO”

Beyond the boardroom and runway, Jane has made her mark as the “TheLazyCEO” on social media. This quirky handle is also the title of her podcast, where she dives into conversations with entrepreneurs behind iconic brands. Her laid-back attitude and genuine passion shine through as she navigates the business world, reminding us that efficiency doesn’t always come from the hustle and bustle, but from finding smarter ways to achieve our goals.

“I think it’s a Bill Gates quote that if you want something done efficiently, give it to a lazy person,” Lu said in a press release. “I look at my friends who are stressed and blah, blah, blah. I’m like, just organise and pre-plan better!

“If you give a lazy person something, they’ll find the most efficient way of getting it done and I feel like that’s the kind of person I am.”

Why Jane Lu Joined “Shark Tank Australia”

Jane told POPSUGAR Australia she had been approached for “other TV opportunities” in the past. The problem? They simply didn’t match her criteria. She had an interest in only one show, and she never thought that dream would become a reality.

That show was “Shark Tank Australia”, and she “never thought there would be [an] opportunity because there was already a previous cast”.

“I couldn’t believe it!” she exclaimed. “I thought it was a scam,” she recalled with a laugh. “It was the only show I wanted to do!”

“Shark Tank Australia” premieres Tuesday, 29 August at 7.30 pm on 10 and 10 Play.
