During Network Ten’s iteration of Dancing with The Stars, comedian Celia Paquola shimmied her way to the mirror ball trophy. But, with all the great dancing competitions, it takes two-to-tango and she didn’t win it alone.

Accompanying her was dancer Jarryd Byrne, dance captain of the series and her professional dance partner.

This year, Byrne has taken the floor on Channel 7’s refreshed and reimagined version of Dancing with The Stars: All Stars alongside TV presenter Renee Bargh.

A father-of-two gorgeous girls, Byrne, who currently lives in Sydney, is a seasoned pro when it comes to performing.

According to his bio on Fit2Move, Byrne grew up in Wagga Wagga and started dancing when he was just eight years old. Specialising in Latin American, Ballroom, Salsa and Hip Hop, he has competed nationally and internationally, winning numerous competitions including the Singapore International and the East Coast Classic.

Before he kicked off his professional career, the dancer was a contestant on So You Think You Can Dance in 2012.

“Ever since I knew I wanted to be a dancer, making it onto the stage or television is the pinnacle of what we do,” Byrne told the Grenfell Record in 2013.

Byrne then went on to tour with Baz Luhrmann’s Strictly Ballroom the Musical for two years before performing in the US with Jason Gilkison’s Burn The Floor and appearing in the local version with fellow DWTS castmate, Gustavo Viglio.

As for his DWTS career, Byrne has been paired with some of our country’s biggest stars including Miss Universe Australia Jesinta Campbell, pop star Ricki-Lee Coulter and My Kitchen Rules star Ash Pollard — making it to the grand finale three times.
