Stars Share Well Wishes For Jeremy Renner Following Snowplow Accident

Jeremy Renner is recovering from surgery following a snowplowing accident in Nevada on New Year’s Day. A spokesperson for the 51-year-old actor confirmed to CNN that Renner suffered “blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries” and was in the intensive care unit in “critical but stable condition” as of Monday evening. While reps for Renner did not immediately respond to POPSUGAR’s request for comment, according to CNN, the Avengers star has undergone two surgeries so far.

Renner was hospitalized on Sunday morning after the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office responded to a traumatic injury in the area of Mt. Rose Highway in Reno, NV, that required him to be airlifted to a nearby hospital. According to a press release, Renner was the only involved party in the incident, and the Accident Investigation Team is currently investigating the circumstances of the accident. Washoe County Sheriff Darin Balaam is set to hold a press conference on Tuesday at 3:30 pm.

As new details emerge about Renner’s terrifying accident, stars like Mark Ruffalo, Josh Gad, and James Gunn have all shared their well wishes for the actor on social media. “Prayers up for our brother @jeremyrenner on a full and speedy recovery,” Ruffalo posted on his Instagram Stories on Monday.

In a statement to People, Renner’s rep said, “Jeremy’s family would like to express their gratitude to the incredible doctors and nurses looking after him, Truckee Meadows Fire and Rescue, Washoe County Sheriff, Reno City Mayor Hillary Schieve and the Carano and Murdock families. They are also tremendously overwhelmed and appreciative of the outpouring of love and support from his fans.”
