John Mulaney has reportedly checked into rehab, People confirms. On Monday, the publication reported that the 38-year-old comedian is seeking treatment following a relapse. “John’s friends and family are happy that he’s finally getting some help and focusing on his health,” a source told Page Six, who was the first to report the news. “He’s on board with his recovery.” According to Page Six, John is seeking treatment for cocaine and alcohol abuse.

John has been open about his struggles with sobriety in the past. “I drank for attention,” he previously revealed to Esquire, adding that he began drinking at age 13. “I never liked smoking pot. Then I tried cocaine, and I loved it. I wasn’t a good athlete, so maybe it was some young male thing of this is the physical feat I can do. Three Vicodin and a tequila and I’m still standing. Who’s the athlete now?” The comedian then got sober on his own at the age of 23.
