“Joker 2”: Everything You Need to Know About the DC Sequel
The film started shooting in December 2022 and director Todd Phillips recently shared a sneak peek of Joaquin Phoenix‘s return as the iconic Arthur Fleck, aka the Joker. In addition to Phoenix’s return, the sequel also features some new faces.

“Joker 2” Cast
Lady Gaga has officially joined the cast in the role of Harley Quinn. This marks the second actor to portray the popular Batman villain in the Worlds of DC universe, following Margot Robbie‘s portrayal of her in Suicide Squad.
The casting of Lady Gaga has generated a lot of excitement among fans, with many eagerly anticipating her take on the character. The audience has already had the opportunity to see the first official look of Lady Gaga in character and it’s safe to say she looks stunning!
Other new cast members include Harry Lawtey, Catherine Keener, Jacob Lofland, and Brendan Gleeson. They’ve been announced in undisclosed roles. Zazie Beetz is set to return as Sophie. But it’s not yet clear if Douglas Hodge and Dante Pereira-Olson will be back as Alfred Pennyworth and Bruce Wayne.
“Joker 2” Plot
The plot details for “Joker 2” are being kept under wraps and very little is known thus far. However, the teased movie title could offer some insight into the story.
The title “Folie à Deux” refers to the rare psychological condition of shared psychosis, whereby two, or more, individuals exhibit the same delusional beliefs or hallucinations. The title seems to suggest it will explore the relationship between the Joker and Harley Quinn, a psychiatrist who treats the Joker in Arkham Assylum, eventually falling in love with and assisting the clown prince of crime, according to comic book lore. However, we’ll have to wait until the film’s release to find out exactly how these two will interact in Phillip’s take on the story.
