Katy Perry will host a free concert for Aussie firefighters and bushfire victims in regional Victoria this month, Fight On, "a show of gratitude for the firefighters & their communities".
The concert in Bright, three-and-a-half hours northeast of Melbourne, and an hour-and-a-half hours south of Albury, is scheduled to take place on Mar. 11, and promises a one-hour sunset show from Katy.
On Instagram, Katy wrote that, as a person from South California, she knows "the devastation of wildfire across my home communities". She says that she was "particularly 💔 by the Australian bushfires".
"Australia has always given me so much love and support," she continued, "so FIGHT ON is one way to return that love, and help provide a little bit of joy to a country that's given me so much joy. 🤗🤗🤗
"Again, thank you to my Australian community for always being one of my biggest champions. I hope I can return the support to you ♥️ 🇦🇺"
Katy will also be performing at the ICC Women's T20 World Cup final in Melbourne on Mar. 8.
Last week, Miley Cyrus announced a bushfire relief concert in Melbourne on Mar. 13, featuring Lil Nas X, with proceeds going to the WWF Australian Wildlife and Nature Recovery Fund, and the Foundation for Rural & Regional Renewal.
