Khloé Kardashian has spoken out after an unauthorised photograph of her in a bikini surfaced on social media.
The photo, which was taken over the Easter weekend, has been removed by the famous sister, with Kardashian and her legal team reportedly attempting to scrub the image from the internet.
On April 8, the 36-year-old released a statement about her longtime struggle with body image, saying that comments surrounding her body and parentage had taken an emotional toll.
Kardashian shared a gallery to Instagram after doing an Instagram Live saying that she has posted to “show you all this isn’t photoshopped.”
“Hey guys, this is me and my body unretouched and unfiltered,” she wrote. “The photo that was posted this week was beautiful. But as someone who has struggled with body image her whole life, when someone takes a photo of you that isn’t flattering in bad lighting or doesn’t capture your body the way it is after working so hard to get it to this point — and then shares it to the world — you should have every right to ask for it not to be shared — no matter who you are.”
Adding that she spent most of her career watching the world compare her weight and her looks to her siblings, she pointed out the comments that she continuously received.
“‘Khloé is the fat sister,'” she wrote. “‘Khloé is the ugly sister.’ ‘Her dad must not be her real dad because she looks so different.’ ‘The only way she could have lost that weight must have been from surgery.'”
“In truth, the pressure, constant ridicule and judgment my entire life to be perfect and to meet other’s standards of how I should look has been too much to bear,” Kardashian wrote.
Kris Jenner praised her daughter in the comments, calling her daughter “the kindest most loving, most supportive” person with the “most beautiful heart I have ever known”.
“I adore you and am so proud of you…. you are an inspiration to all of us and I appreciate and love you each and every single day. Thank you for teaching the rest of us to be kind and to not judge…. you are one of a kind…. what a blessing you are. You are a gift. ❤️🙏”
At the time of publishing, Kardashian’s post had garnered over five million likes.
