Killing Eve fans, rejoice, because season three is arriving a whole two weeks earlier than anticipated. After BBC America announced that the tantalising spy drama's highly anticipated third instalment would debut on April 12 in the US, rather than the original premiere date of April 26, the ABC revealed that the series would be fast-tracked to Australia, dropping on iview at midday on April 13 and screening on ABC on April 19 at 9.30 p.m.
BBC America spread the news by (finally!) sharing the official trailer, in which Villanelle (Jodie Comer) learns that Eve Polastri (Sandra Oh) is, in fact, still alive despite getting shot. We catch a few glimpses at how their lives picked back up — Villanelle appears to move into a huge new pad in Barcelona, while Eve is stress-eating at the thought of a reunion with the assassin — until Eve receives a voice message of Villanelle saying, "Admit it, Eve — you wish I was here," via a glowing, heart-shaped speaker. *Chills*
Killing Eve's second season wrapped up in Rome, where Eve and Villanelle planned to run away together, only for Villanelle to unexpectedly shoot the MI6 operative in the back (but TBH, we kind of expected it based on her erratic nature). Eve and Villanelle will appear alongside other returning characters, including Carolyn Martens (played by Fiona Shaw), as well as a few new cast members like Game of Thrones alum Gemma Whelan. We can't wait to see how much the plot thickens with these additions come April 13. In the meantime, we'll be rewatching the action-packed trailer and theorising about the mysterious season three photos ahead.
