After a five year absence, Lorde will finally make a return to stages in Australia and New Zealand for her Solar Power Tour in March 2022.

The singer recently made quite the comeback with the artwork for her catchy pop single Solar Power, which featured the 24-year-old’s backside as she playfully leapt over the camera.

The internet immediately went wild for the imagery, and promptly generated plenty of memes about the photo. “It’s a specific experience thinking about everyone in your life seeing your butt,” Lorde said on Triple J Breakfast. “I have no regrets. I love this cover and am happy for this to be how people see my butt.

“I was sent a couple of memes. They were very funny; I liked them. I’m so out of touch with meme culture but I’m down. All the memes!”

Thankfully, Lorde will be taking not just her butt, but her entire talented self on a world tour, and we could not be more thrilled.

Solar Power, which features backing vocals from Clairo and Phoebe Bridgers and was produced by Jack Antonoff, has been receiving nothing but praise for its breezy summer sound, with NME going so far as to call it a “gorgeous, sun-kissed rebirth” and a “quietly but supremely confident return”.

An album of the same name will be released later in 2021, marking the singer’s third full-length album following 2013’s Pure Heroine and 2017’s Melodrama.

Lorde has now exceeded 12 million album sales worldwide, over 10 billion streams globally and has won two Grammy Awards, so tickets for her tour are bound to sell quickly when they go on sale to the general public on Monday, July 5, 2021, at midday AEDT. There will also be a limited number of pre-sale tickets available from June 28 and you can head to Lorde‘s official website for more information.
