Love Island Australia: Austen Is a Proud “Mummy’s Boy”
Love Island might not be known for its long-lasting relationships, but surely the Spanish backdrop will add some extra heat!?
Hosted by Sophie Monk, the reality series will be airing exclusively on Channel 9’s streaming platform, 9Now. They’ve been dropping tidbits about the upcoming season in the lead up — including who our Islanders will be this season.
One of the Islanders looking for lasting love this year is 22-year-old spray painter and semi-professional soccer player, Austen Bugeja, from Perth.
Growing up outside of Penrith with a Chilean and Maltese background, Austen has natural charm added with lots of class and personality.
He’s a “proud mummy’s boy” who sports a pearl necklace and never leaves the house without cologne. He sounds like either a serious dreamboat or a total heartbreaker.
Apparently (and unsurprisingly), Austen is extremely popular with the ladies, and has “no trouble picking up” when he goes out. However, he’s yet to meet ‘the one’.
“I’m ready to start settling down,” said Austen in a press statement, when asked why he wanted to do the show, “and I love meeting new people. I am just ready.”
With the support of his mum, Austen is looking for someone to start sharing his life with. He also says that style is a big part of who he is and what he wants to share with someone else.
“Style has always been something that I have a real interest in,” he explained. “Being able to stand out with everyone else is what I take pride in. If I went out and one of the boys was wearing the same shirt as me, I would change it. I want to be my own self.”
Watch out girls; Austen might upstage you with his bling and sense of style!
Will Austen find a girl that will match his confidence and uniqueness?
