MAFS 2023: Bronte’s Sister Calls Out Harrison’s ‘Gaslighting’ Behaviour During Homestays

MAFS 2023: Bronte’s Sister Calls Out Harrison’s ‘Gaslighting’ Behaviour

Homestay Week continued on “Married At First Sight“, and for some couples, it wasn’t the warm welcome they were expecting.

There’s no denying that Bronte and Harrison have had the most rollercoaster relationship “MAFS” have ever seen. One night, Bronte is accusing Harrison of “gaslighting” her, and the next day, they are all loved up. It’s caused quite a stir in the experiment, with other couples questioning their true intentions. AKA they’re only staying for more Instagram followers.

Bronte took Harrison home to Perth and was excited to show him around her favourite spots. But tensions started to rise as Harrison worried his ‘wife’ wouldn’t move to Sydney for him. Despite Bronte reassuring him that she would do anything for love, he wasn’t convinced.

Harrison felt that, while Bronte said she would move for love, she didn’t specifically say she would move for him.

Their trip ended with drinks with Bronte’s protective sister, Kirra. She didn’t hold back in holding Harrison accountable for his actions throughout the experiment. It started with the whole moving states situation.

“I don’t feel like I got any of that reassurance from Bronte this entire time,” Harrison told Kirra.

“What more reassurance did you need than someone saying they would 100 per cent move?” She responded.

Bronte’s Sister Unleashes on Harrison

Harrison tried to deflect the blame onto Bronte and accused her of lying about her willingness to move to Sydney. But Bronte and Kirra called him out for gaslighting them.

“I just feel like in every single narrative you’re spinning, I feel like you’re always trying to play victim,” Kirra said.

“It’s always trying to make Bronte look bad. Do you understand how narcissistic that is? You’re saying her emotions and how she felt is not valid ‘cause you don’t see it that way.”

Harrison expressed disagreement with Bronte’s sister, clarifying that he did not intend to discredit Bronte’s emotions. He believed, however, that Bronte was gaslighting him. But Kirra was not going to let Harrison leave without a confrontation.

“You’re just going to run away like a coward?” Kirra challenged as Harrison tried to exit.

“You’re not going to sit here and be accountable for being a narcissistic, gaslighting dickhead.”

Harrison stormed out of the dinner, leaving Bronte to finally recognise his true character.

“And that, ladies and gentlemen, is a coward. Throw in the trash,” Kirra quipped.

“It’s a divorce,” Bronte declared, slamming her wedding ring onto the table.

Viewers Band Behind Kirra

Viewers were stoked watching Harrison get called out for his BS by Bronte’s sister. Fans took to Twitter to band behind Kirra. Some praised her for saying what we’ve all been wanting to hear, while others said she should be an expert next year.

“Married At First Sight” airs Sunday at 7.00pm and Monday — Wednesday at 7.30pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.
