Martha Kalifatidis and Michael Brunelli have welcomed their first child.
The “Married At First Sight” couple shared the exciting news that Kalifatidis had given birth to a beautiful baby boy, “Lucius Brunelli”.
“He’s here, he’s perfect,” they captioned a joint post on Instagram.
The unique name is of Latin origin, meaning “light”, and Michael explained how it’s pronounced.
“’LOO-SHUS’ if you’re wondering,” he commented on the post.
Friends and family flooded the exciting news with congratulatory messages to the new parents.
“Yes hair !!!😍😍😍 I’m gonna SQUISH 😍 CONGRATULATIONS BOTH OF YOU!!!!” Kayla Itsines wrote.
Nadia Bartel commented, “Awww little man is here!! ❤️❤️ biggest congrats,” while Jacinta Frankin said, “Congratulations! He’s beautiful.”
The 31-year-old announced that she was heading to hospital on Sunday night to give birth to her baby boy.
“Bags are packed, we’re off! See you all soon… plus one,” she captioned on Instagram.
In the post, she gave fans a sneak peek at her preparations, sharing a picture of herself holding a cute little onesie for her soon-to-arrive son. She also showed her packed in the back of the car.
In the same post, the star also shared a heartwarming moment with her mother Mary as they said their goodbyes before heading to the hospital. In the video, Martha waved to her mum and shared that she and Michael were “off to meet the baby.”
It also showed Mary throwing a bucket of water behind the car, which is believed to bring good luck. According to Turkish folk belief, “spilling water behind the person who goes on a journey will bring good luck, and is done so that the travel or the job will end happily.”
Friends and fans couldn’t help but gush over the sweet moment and express their excitement for the new arrival.
“Mumma throwing water made me tear up such an exciting time for you all, good luck all the very best,” one follower wrote.
“MAFS” expert Mel Shilling commented, “Sending all my love [and] strength to you Martha … go get em Mama.” While a third said: “I am so excited for you!!! Good luck with it all hope it goes well! Cant wait to meet him!!”
Martha and Michael Have Been Busy Preparing for Their Little One
As the due date approached, Martha and Michael have been busy getting everything ready for their little one. From decorating the nursery and attending antenatal classes, they’ve shared it all.
The couple has also been taking some time to relax and enjoy their last moments as a family of two, sharing sweet moments with their followers on social media.
Martha and Michael’s relationship has been a fan favourite since they first appeared on the reality show in 2018. So it’s no surprise fans have been eagerly following their journey as they prepare for parenthood. The couple has been sharing every step of the way with their followers. This included the hardships Martha endured from hyperemesis gravidarum, a severe form of morning sickness, which has at times left her bedridden for weeks on end.
