Since publishing this story, Network Ten has announced the death of MasterChef Australia judge, Jock Zonfrillo on April 30, 2023. MasterChef Australia Secrets and Surprises will now premiere on Sunday, May 7, with the full support of Zonfrillo’s family.

Starting soon, “MasterChef Australia: Secrets & Surprises” promises to take you on a wild ride through the kitchen with unexpected twists and delicious-looking dishes that will make you want to eat the screen. You can catch all the action on 10 and 10 Play.

Returning to the judges’ table are Melissa Leong, Andy Allen and Jock Zonfrillo. A lineup of guest judges are set to follow and turn up the heat with new culinary tests. After a decade, Jamie Oliver is returning to the “MasterChef Australia” kitchen over the first two episodes. So the contestants better be ready for a heart helping of challenges.

Each of the 18 home cooks needs to bring a bag of tricks to the table as they compete for the grand prize of $250,000. But first they’ll need to complete epic pressure tests and mystery boxes, and avoid elimination.

We’re excited to see the contestant’s creations throughout the season. Here’s a sneak peak at who’s competing for the title of “MasterChef Australia” 2023.

“MasterChef Australia” 2023: Andrea Puglisi

After moving to Australia over a decade ago, Andrea Puglisi’s cooking style is still rooted in his Italian heritage. From a young age, he spent hours with his Nonna and dad in the kitchen learning how to create delicious meals from scratch.

He spent much of his upbringing surrounded by food after his family took over the operations of a café. While in Italy, Puglisi was always immersed in the hospitality industry working as a venue manager, bartender and vineyard farm hand. From here he learned from many chefs that have helped him become the cook he is today.

Since moving to Perth, he has taken on a role as a rope access technician but always spends time in the kitchen every day making Mediterranean dishes and Italian classics.

Puglisi is a self-claimed intuitive chef that loves big flavours. Throughout his time on “MasterChef Australia,” he hopes to sharpen his dessert-making techniques. After the competition he hopes to open a beachfront tapas and cocktail bar.

How far will his skills take him? Find out on “MasterChef Australia: Secrets & Surprises”, airing soon on 10 and 10Play.
