Normani’s New Management Team Says She Has “New Music on the Horizon”
It seems Normani is finally gearing up to release new music. On Aug. 7, Rolling Stone reported that the “Wild Side” singer has a new management team, Brandon Creed (Charli XCX, Troye Sivan) and Lydia Asrat (Coco Jones), who promise that Normani’s new material is on the way. “With new music on the horizon, and Asrat and Creed now at the helm of her musical career, she and the rest of her team are extremely excited to embark on this new chapter and partnership,” a rep for Normani told the outlet.
The news comes after Normani parted ways with her old manager, S10 Entertainment’s Brandon Silverstein, in May, whom her rep says she “wishes all the best.” In a statement to Rolling Stone, Silverstein said, “Change is good. S10 is headed in another direction and felt like it was time for us to move on. We achieved incredible success together over seven years. We wish her nothing but the best in her future.” Reps for Normani and her former manager did not immediately respond to POPSUGAR’s request for comment.
Normani previously teased her yet-to-be-released music during an October 2021 appearance on WPGC’s “Mid-day Shenanigans With Poet” show, where the former Fifth Harmony singer said, “I’ve been sitting on – I have probably two, three albums worth of music.” Normani explained that the delay at the time was partly due to “insecurities” and being “very critical” of herself. She addressed her music drought again in a Billboard interview published in June, in which she shared, “In terms of my career and my music, I know the wait has been extensive but it’s definitely going to be worth it.” She also called the next chapter of her career “transformative,” labeling it “the season of actually stepping into who I am called to be.”
Normani’s last solo single arrived in March 2022 when she dropped “Fair.” Four months later, she followed up with a collaboration with Calvin Harris, Tinashe, and Offset titled “New to You.” Previously, the singer dropped hits like her debut solo track “Motivation” and “Wild Side” with Cardi B.
