The 2024 Oscars, aka the Academy Awards, are just around the corner, and boy, are we in for a treat! It’s that time of year when we celebrate the cream of the crop in the film industry, and this year’s nominations are nothing short of spectacular.

So, remember that hashtag sensation #Barbenheimer that had everyone buzzing last year? Well, it looks like its legacy is going to live on, because the 2024 Oscars are shaping up to be one heck of a show, thanks to Barbenheimer and a bunch of other blockbuster hits that have been making waves.

We’ve got some heavy hitters vying for that coveted Best Picture spot — think “Barbie”, “Oppenhemier”, “Past Lives”, and “Anatomy of a Fall”. These films have been causing quite the stir, and it’s no wonder why.

“Oppenheimer” is leading the pack with a whopping 13 nominations, closely followed by “Poor Things” with 11 nods. And let’s not forget “Killers of the Flower Moon” and its 10 nominations, or the fan-favourite “Barbie”, which snagged eight nods.

But hey, if you’re in Australia and wondering how to catch all the action, we’ve got you covered.
