Viola Davis and Julius Tennon did their thing at the Cannes Film Festival. Davis stunned at the premiere of “Monster” on May 17 in a feathery Valentino gown while her husband, also an actor, looked on in admiration. Photos from the event captured Tennon’s sweet behind-the-scenes support, until he eventually joined Davis and posed on the red carpet. “Felt like a Queen with her King!” Davis wrote on Instagram, sharing more photos from the event.

Davis and Tennon first met in 1999 while filming “City of Angels,” although Davis said it took her over a month to actually call Tennon back. “I had bad credit at the time. I had anxiety attacks from driving. I had to work out some personal issues first,” she told “The Jess Cagle Interview” show in 2016.

Once Davis worked up the courage, however, the two got together. They would date for four years before tying the knot with two separate ceremonies in 2003. “The first time we got married with 15 people in our condo. It wasn’t big enough,” Davis explained to E! News. “I wanted to have another ceremony that was pretty where I got to wear the fabulous dress with the fabulous food.”

Since then, Davis and Tennon have hit several more milestones together, adopting their daughter Genesis in 2011, and renewing their vows after almost 13 years of marriage in 2016. While Davis often braves the red carpet solo, her family still accompanies her quite frequently, stepping out for her 2017 Hollywood Walk of Fame Ceremony, and attending the “Air” premiere, in which Davis and Tennon were each other’s costars.
