5 Seconds of Summer’s Michael Clifford and Crystal Leigh Are Expecting Their First Child

5 Seconds of Summer guitarist Michael Clifford and wife Crystal Leigh are expecting their first child. A rep for the couple first confirmed the news to People on June 12. “I’m filled with excitement and also with nerves,” 27-year-old Clifford told the outlet. “I’ve been a dog dad for a long time, so I think I’m ready for a small human to take care of and communicate with conversationally after eight years of one-sided dog convos!”

Meanwhile, 33-year-old Leigh, a former talent manager, also shared her excitement. “I’m over the moon!!” she said. “Completely overflowing with joy, I have never been this happy in my entire life. I’d like to think it’s the baby’s good vibes and energy radiating through me, but it’s probably just the hormones.” She also said that Clifford “has been such an incredible partner through it all,” and added that “I really do feel like we are pregnant together.”

Clifford also celebrated the news in a June 12 Instagram post. “you’re already everything,” he wrote in the caption. “baby clifford 11/11/23.” Reps for Clifford did not immediately respond to POPSUGAR’s request for comment.

The couple tied the knot in January 2021, but they’ve been together since 2016 and have shared a lot of cute moments over the years. Clifford also told People that watching his wife’s pregnancy journey has “really has changed my outlook on life” and added that “the fact that for every single human on the planet (including everyone reading this) a strong woman had to go through carrying a baby, going through all of the emotions that come with being pregnant, and then deliver the baby is just astounding. It’s incredibly remarkable and shows just how strong women are. Crystal is going to be an amazing mother.”
