Back in episode one Matt gifted country cutie Elly with the elusive Golden Ticket, which guaranteed her a single date with Matt in his hometown, Melbourne. Not one to waste any time, Elly cashed in her prize and joined Matt at the iconic Flemington Racecourse. There, they engaged in a plethora of racing-related activities, from getting to touch the Melbourne cup (with gloves on, of course), to meeting Gai Waterhouse, and taking a ride in a horse and carriage. Matt admitted Elly was getting a rose "before this day even kicked off," so it came as no surprise when she she did indeed receive one, along with a kiss to boot. Later in the episode, the pair also shared a cheeky smooch at the cocktail party.
2. The Footy-themed Group Date Led to Nichole Getting Some Alone Time with Matt
The gloves were off in an AFL-themed group date that featured a (not-so) friendly game of touch footy. The ladies were first treated to some coaching by Greater Western Sydney Giants players Adam Tomlinson and Nicola Barr, before they were divided into two teams: the 'old girls' versus the 'new girls'. In the end the old girls prevailed, and Nichole was deemed best on ground, allowing her some extra alone time with Matt. Despite her best efforts, the mini-date did not result in a kiss, but she still received a rose. "I'm not one to be superstitious, but I can't help but think that might be some kind of sign," said Matt after said rose broke off its stem and well, not going to argue with that one.
3. Monique Received a Single Date Card at the Cocktail Party and Nichole Was Not Impressed
Once it was announced that there was a single date card up for grabs at the cocktail party, the ladies certainly did not hold back in their attempts to impress Matt. But, it was Monique's make-shift scavenger hunt that ultimately caught his attention and landed her the next single date. While Monique was certainly excited to have won out, none of the other women quite shared in her enthusiasm. In fact, the news shook Nichole so much that she stormed off, crying, "she's just a blonde f*king bitch with tan, I'm over it, I'm done with it." Yikes!
4. Jessie, Renee and Jessica were eliminated
Tonight we said goodbye to three women, Jessie, Renee and Jessica. Unfortunately, in their short time on the show, we didn't learn a whole lot about any of them. While Renee and Jessica were a part of the 'new girls' group, Jessie had been there from night one. Farewell ladies, we hardly knew ye.
