Valentin Chmerkovskiy and Jenna Johnson are dancing for joy: the couple is expecting their first child together. The “Dancing With The Stars” pros, who were married in 2019, announced the news on Instagram on July 15, writing, “Our biggest dream come true yet 🤍 Baby Chmerkovskiy coming this January! My heart has grown beyond comprehension while growing this little miracle inside of me. We can’t wait to meet our precious angel.”
Alongside the exciting news, Johnson, 28, shared photos showing off her baby bump solo and with the father-to-be, 36. She also spoke to People about learning she was pregnant, saying, “Our little baby was created with a lot of love. It all seems so magical and meant to be.”
Throughout her pregnancy so far, Johnson said she’s tried to focus on finding “ways to be super grateful and find moments of gratitude. I started a little gratitude journal. Just every day I write what’s happening in my body. What I’ve liked. What I don’t like. But just how magical the experience is. So I think trying to keep my mind in that mindset has been really helpful for me.”
Johnson also said she has high hopes for Chmerkovskiy’s dad skills. She told People, “If he is anything like he is as a husband, he’s going to be the best dad in the world. He is so selfless and loving. Between the two of us, is by far the more patient one. So I think, all of these little attributes are going to just make him an incredible dad.”
The excited parents-to-be first met on the dancing competition in 2014 and got engaged during a romantic trip to Venice, Italy, in June 2018.
