The beauty industry is one that many people aspire to make it in. Whether they want to work as a makeup artist backstage during fashion week, or they aim to make others feel good by providing services that help them glow from within. But while it’s an attractive space, it isn’t always an easy journey.

This is why L’Oreal Australia awarded four young, passionate and aspiring beauty professionals with the Beauty for All Scholarship Award on October 6. Recipients Isvananda Roman, Sarah Munzel, Haneen Zakariya and Harsimranjeet Kaur each faced their own set of cultural and financial hardships, but the challenges didn’t dull their shine. Their entrepreneurial spirit and the motivation they possessed helped them stand out.

Lara Srokowski, Director of Artistry for Lancôme, had the chance to chat with the four of them, and she was reminded of herself before she began her career with L’Oreal.

“I saw a lot of passion, they reminded me of myself when I first started out in the industry. I saw so much passion and entrepreneurship in their eyes. I just knew they would help change the world of beauty,” she told POPSUGAR Australia. “They all had goals already. A lot of the time you ask someone what they want to do, and they say, ‘I want to work in the beauty industry.’ But when I asked all of them, they all had an objective of what they want to do already. Which is what I had, I wanted to be makeup director for Lancôme, so the fact that they had that goal and spirit, they’ll definitely make it and help empower others.”

The 2021 Beauty for All Scholarship provides valuable education opportunities and career pathways, and for L’Oreal, it was important to foster new and fresh talent.

“Seeing how passionate and skilled our Beauty for All Scholars already are, is a highlight of this program each year. And being able to contribute to helping them achieve their goals is at the heart of our work at L’Oréal Australia,” said Corporate Affairs and Engagement Director for L’Oreal Australia, Marnie Carroll.

Each scholarship is valued at $50,000 and will help cover the cost of the recipients’ full tuition at Kangan Institute in Victoria.

Not only will the financial help provide new avenues for these four bright young women, but it also gives newfound confidence, teaching them that they can conquer any dream as long as they work hard for it.

“I definitely think it’s empowering, and beauty is ever-evolving. I think for me beauty is giving you that extra power of confidence, and confidence is the most attractive beauty trait anyone can wear,” said Lara.
