The Friends reunion finally has an air date and the good news is it’s happening very soon. Could we be any more excited? Probably not.

According to a press release from HBO Max as well as being confirmed by the entire cast on their social media channels, Friends: The Reunion will debut on May 27, US time.

It has now been confirmed that the reunion will be available to stream express from the US at 5.02 pm AEST on Thursday, May 27, only on BINGE.

Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer will “return to the iconic comedy’s original soundstage, Stage 24, on the Warner Bros Studio lot in Burbank for a real-life unscripted celebration of the beloved show.”

Alongside your favourite friends will be a variety of special guests including Reese Witherspoon, who played Rachel’s sister Jill Green and Tom Selleck, who played Monica’s much older boyfriend, Richard Burke. Elliott Gould, who played the Geller’s father, Jack, will also be returning with his TV wife, Christina Pickles, who played Judy.

Other celebrities will also be appearing — though we’re not sure how they’ll fit in yet — including, David Beckham, Justin Bieber, BTS, James Corden, Cindy Crawford, Cara Delevingne, Lady Gaga, Kit Harington, Larry Hankin, Mindy Kaling, Thomas Lennon, James Michael Tyler, Maggie Wheeler and Malala Yousafzai. What a lineup!

Each cast member shared a sneak peek on of the reunion special on their Instagrams — showing the core six cast members walking along their studio lot.

“It’s official! The #FriendsReunion premieres May 27th on @HBOMax — could we BE any more excited?! 😝❤️” Jennifer Aniston captioned her post.

According to TMZ, the infamous water fountain will be used and designer Greg Grande also hinted that the now very famous Central Perk couch will also be featured.

On the Graham Norton Show back in April, Schwimmer said that “nothing is scripted” and the cast is “not in character”.

“I’m going to LA to shoot the Friends Reunion. I will get to see everyone for the first time in years,” he said.

“I’ll be David. Nothing is scripted and we are not in character. We are all ourselves, although there is one section of it that I don’t want to give away, but we all read something.”
