POPSUGAR Australia: Were you surprised to be sent home on last night's episode?
Harry: Nobody expects to go home. I didn't do anything particularly bad. I didn't have any screw-ups. Nothing really went wrong, except for the fact that the judges didn't like what I gave them.
They said that there were too many flavours going on and there were too many elements, which, to be honest, I was kind of confused about, because if you've ever seen a Pressure Test before you know that there's a million different elements.
PS: Is there anything that you would do differently if you had your time over?
Harry: Cook a different dish. I'd probably just do something really easy and delicious like fried chicken. It's hard to go wrong with fried chicken.
I got too caught up in making it so 'wow', sort of visually fancy and showy, that maybe I lost touch of the fact that I should've been making it more to my style and more relative to what I would usually cook.
I think what they really wanted from the start was people to cook their own food, and cook the food that made them happy. And that's what I did. Except for the last cook, I was cooking the food that I really like to eat and that I would want to eat. Just that last challenge, I came unstuck because I tried to do something that I wasn't that happy with. It wasn't authentic to me.
