After stepping down as senior members of the British royal family in March, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are taking on a new venture with Netflix. According to The New York Times, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have signed a multi-year deal with the streamer, where they will produce a variety of projects including documentaries, docuseries, feature films, scripted shows, and children’s programming, exclusively for Netflix. Though Meghan and Harry might appear on-camera in a documentary or two, the publication noted that Meghan will not be returning to her acting roots as part of the new deal.

“Our focus will be on creating content that informs but also gives hope,” the couple said in a statement. “As new parents, making inspirational family programming is also important to us,” adding that Netflix’s “unprecedented reach will help us share impactful content that unlocks action.”

Variety recently reported that the couple was taking meetings with various networks, including Bonnie Hammer from NBCUniversal. Since their royal exit, the couple has appeared in a handful of documentaries that support causes close to their hearts. In April, Meghan narrated Disney’s nature documentary Elephant, which helps benefit conservation charity Elephants Without Borders, while Harry is set to appear in Netflix’s Rising Phoenix documentary, which gives an inside look at the Paralympic Games. We can’t wait to see what projects they have in store!
